Finally! I upgraded my mattress to something a little more sustainable (and not as cheap) as the pocket coil double I was diving into every night. I knew I wanted to get a memory foam and was super fascinated by the convenience of the mattresses that come vacuum sealed in a box.
There are a ton of brands out there including: Endy, Leesa, Casper, Douglas, Hamuq, Polysleep, Lull, Bloom and yeah, the list goes on…. that all seem super similar. Each mattress seems to have a slight difference be it the overall thickness or thickness of each layer/material, or the cover was made of a different material ranging from bamboo to cotton and what seems like everything in between.
After a lot of research and comparisons, I had it narrowed down to two brands. Douglas and Bloom by Sleep Country. Ultimately, Bloom won. The biggest reason is because it was convenient for me to test out a Bloom at any Sleep Country location. Douglas was a major runner up because of how the mattress was built up, the size, the Natural Eucalyptus Fabric™ machine-washable top cover and because I liked how it was Canadian and bonus: I like how the top cover had a subtle mountain design at the bottom of the mattress.

Truth is, there are a shit ton of mattresses on the market with different firmness and made up of different materials and it’s key to see what is best for you. See, Bloom has different models including the Cloud, Air, Mist and Earth. I was thinking I would splurge and get the Cloud. It’s the highest priced one and after getting the cheapest last time, I knew I didn’t want to do that again.
After testing them in store, I fell for the Air. It was slightly less than the Cloud and the one I liked best. I wanted a bigger bed so opted in for a queen, one size up from the pocket coil double I had.
